ShadowdAx

Fri Nov 21, 2008, 4:24 PM
Please update to the latest version - some major bug fixes have occurred since the last update.

Now FF3 Compatible (This is thanks to ashescry's investigation into electricnet's dAx FF3 fix, I merely ironed out a minor bug)

Thumbs are now completely functional - Hopefully no more complaints now :)

Fixed up a few errors which occured with the latest release (this affects history, setaway, and other important features), and also added in capitalisation within trip messages (as requested by ~Neko-Of-The-Ninth).

Two points before i begin...
You need greasemonkey (installed on firefox) enabled to run this script :)
Get firefox here
Get GreaseMonkey here

You need to have un-installed your previous version of dAx if you have it.
-- Right click on the monkey's face, select 'Manage User Scripts'. Select 'dAx', then select 'uninstall'.

Without either of the above the script will not work.

Hey everyone,
Now that we've established that it will work, i would like to say that this is all thanks to siebenzehn and his great idea to make a greasemonkey script for dAmn.
My script is still very much based around his central idea, with which he created dAx
He wanted me to say "just remind the users to use my script if they don't explicitly need the features you added"
Please take a look at dAx

click here and click on 'install'.

The beta release for my dAx Add-on (called ShadowdAx for want of a better name) has just come into effect. This is a still primative version of it, as you don't have any good menu's or whatnot, it's all still text based. But a flash menu based version will soon be released, along with the normal button version.

For all of you interested here's a list of currently working features...
Current Working Features:

-=Coloured Text=-
Usage:
/cmd setcol #000000 #000FFF
#000000 being your username colour
#000FFF being your text colour
/cmd colours (turn colour viewing on or off)
This is the much awaited and yet not amazingly interesting coloured text.
I have set it so that only your name is coloured for the moment, but that is
changeable at any time. :)

To set the colour you need to use a 6 digit hex code. For instance...
/cmd setcol #FFFFFF is white
/cmd setcol #000000 is black
/cmd setcol #FFF000 is yellow
/cmd setcol #000FFF is blue
/cmd setcol #FF0000 is red

This means you can have any colour you want.

[link] << has list of heaps of colours.

-=Away Remember=-
When you set yourself to away and leave the room, you often will miss messages from your friends. This simply stores all the lines which contain
your name and will show it to you when you get back.

-=Statistics=-
Usage:
/cmd stats
This will tell you recent statistics (like how many messages sent, how many
recieved, how many sent to your name, and a few others, just a handy thing.

-=User Enter Trip Mode=-
Usage:
/cmd trip username message
Or:
/cmd trip username
This will allow you to auto-send a message when your friend enters the room, i do believe this will be very handy for you if you want to give a personal explanation for why you went away while they were d/c or whatnot.
If you use this command without a message it will simply display a popup of the time it was when they re-entered the room :)

-=History Search=-
Usage:
/history SEARCH TERM (NOT case sensitive |'dEf' and 'DeF' will return the same)
This stores all messages sent and recieved since the time you entered the room/s and allows you to search for things that people have said, or someones name, then displays it back to you the lines where your search item appears.

-=Scrolling Message Title=-
Usage:
/cmd scroll SPEED (off by default, specifying speed is optional)
This, upon recieving a message, will change the title of the page to
the message and who it's from. This will sedately scroll sideways until another message is recieved, then it'll do the same with that one.
Because this can lag older computers i have turned it off by default, to turn it
on simply type /cmd scroll and hit enter, the same to turn it off.

-= Display Picture Viewing =-
Usage:
/cmd dp (off by default)
I remember on the MAC version of MSN, everytime a person sends a message their display picture is above it. I quite liked this feature, but it didn't work as well in chats with multiple people. This is for you to decide as you can turn it on and off at will. Again simply type /cmd dp and hit enter to turn it on, and the same to turn it off again.

-=All of dAx's Features=-
This is still based upon dAx, and therefore retains all of the past features
you all loved from that little script.

Soon to be implemented Features include:
Buddy List - On the top of your page allows you to have the status of your closest
friends, so you can easily tell if someone has come online, and what room they're in.
It would appear this feature has already been created elsewhere, and therefore will not be added into this script (exactly like custom emote lists.) For more details look here

Full GUI (Graphical User Interface) so there's no need to type commands.

Implement the Trip Mode to work on idle time as well, so as soon as someone stops
idling you're informed in your current room.

Full colour picker, so no need to type codes

Changeable usernames (like IRC and whatnot) with a direct link to your actual one.

Get rid of ads for un-subscribed users.

full noting via command line.
for instance /note Shadow-of-Destine DIE!

[link] - Allow joining of chat rooms while in maintenance mode
(This simply stores authtokens, i will post a journal on how to use 3rd party software
to run the chats)

Different Coloured Default Text & Hilites - Allowing you to set the default text colour for the
room, this will allow for many skins to be used with the colour feature of ShadowdAx

Possibly background images, although this has been suggested i'm not sure
how good it would look, and i'm tempted to leave the aesthetics to all the skinners out there.

I'm open to suggestions! please note me or post a comment if you have any new features
or idea's for this add-on :)

!UPDATE - History is lookin' prettier and is less obtrusive.
!UPDATE - Made a Stats display
!UPDATE - Turned off colours for #IdleRPG.
!UPDATE - Turned off colours for #Trivia because it was causing problems with the Triviabot.
!UPDATE - Fixed over-writing colours, my bad... :(
!UPDATE - Fixed lag issue with CSS styles.
!UPDATE - You can now colour your text as well as your name.
!UPDATE - You can now specify your scroll bar delay time (requested by theblackline)
